Data Protection
The controller responsible for data processing within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

The following explains how we handle your personal data and what you can expect when you use our website.
Server log files
Every time the website at www.kingdomnoel.com is visited, your browser automatically transmits certain data, which our hosting provider stores in server log files. This data is processed to ensure convenient use of the website and to safeguard the security and stability of the system:
- the date and the URL visited,
- the URL visited immediately beforehand (referrer),
- the name of the data retrieved,
- the browser used,
- the operating system used,
- the visitor’s abbreviated IP address.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest derives from the purposes listed above. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, in the case of log files after seven days at the latest. Where storage continues beyond this period, IP addresses are deleted or anonymised so that the requesting client can no longer be identified.
Hosting
We host our website with Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias, Switzerland. When you visit the website, the server log data described above is processed on Infomaniak’s servers in Switzerland on our behalf. Switzerland is recognised by the European Commission as a country with an adequate level of data protection, so the transfer is permitted pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR. The legal basis for the underlying processing is Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable provision of our website.
Web analytics with Pirsch
To understand how our website is used, we use Pirsch Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service provided by emvi software GmbH, Wendenstraße 4, 20097 Hamburg, Germany, processed on servers in Germany.
Pirsch works without cookies and does not store cookies or comparable information on your device. To generate aggregated, anonymous statistics (for example which pages are visited and how often), Pirsch derives a non-reversible value from connection data such as the IP address and the browser type, using a daily-changing key. This value is designed so that individual visitors cannot be identified and cannot be tracked across days or across other websites. We do not use it to identify you as an individual.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the statistical analysis of website use in order to improve our offering. Further information is available in Pirsch’s privacy policy at https://pirsch.io/privacy.
Cookies
Our website does not use cookies.
Contact by email
If you contact us by email (for example at info@kingdomnoel.com), the data you provide (your email address and the content of your message, together with any further details you include) is processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR, or, where your enquiry concerns the initiation or performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(1)(b) GDPR. We delete this data once your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively, unless statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial and tax law) require longer storage; in that case the data is restricted from further processing and deleted once those periods expire.
Disclosure of personal data
Beyond the cases described above, personal data is not disclosed without your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR, unless a legal obligation exists pursuant to Art. 6(1)(1)(c) GDPR, the disclosure is required and necessary pursuant to Art. 6(1)(1)(b) GDPR for the performance of contractual relationships, or it is necessary pursuant to Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in your data not being disclosed.
External links
Our website links to external services, including our publication “The Workings” hosted on Substack. The article teasers shown on our website (titles, short descriptions and preview images) are maintained manually and served from our own hosting; no data is transmitted to these external providers when you simply load our pages. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider once you actively follow a link, at which point that provider’s own data processing applies. We have no influence over it.
Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
Data security
We protect your data through technical and organisational measures against loss, destruction, unauthorised access, alteration and distribution. Our website is transmitted in encrypted form using current TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. We continuously improve our security measures in line with technological developments. Despite regular review, complete protection against all conceivable threats is not possible.
